Ukraine Response
The number of people who have fled Ukraine since the start of the war has now surpassed 4 million. At St Matt’s we want to play our part in standing with the people of Ukraine through prayer and action.
Pray
We believe that prayer makes a difference and is a way that we can all stand with the people of Ukraine and those experiencing conflict across our world.
A Prayer for Ukraine
God of peace and justice,
we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion
to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.

Supporting refugees
We are gathering a community to prepare a warm welcome for refugees. Please do get in touch if you are interested in joining us, there are many different ways you could get involved.
As a church community we have registered with the Sanctuary Foundation and are looking to understand who in our community may be interested in supporting refugees. If this is you we would love to know.
